Q&A with Amy

How long have you been working in the Graphic Design field?

I’ve been working in the design industry for almost 20 years. I’ve had the privilege of working at award winning design firms, and doing some really great work.  
I branched out on my own in 2007 to work on a project basis with companies and causes that inspire me. Ten years later, I continue to evolve as a creative thinker (and tinkerer!)

Studio AG is a “company of one” (ahem, me!) and operates as an offsite design department for small businesses. I also work as a creative consultant for larger businesses. (Check out my good ‘ole LinkedIn profile to see career history).

What types of clients do you work with?

I love working with companies in the fancy food, gift & lifestyle businesses. I think its such an exciting and fun category.  I welcome the opportunity to work with businesses in other categories provided it’s the right fit.

Small Businesses: Usually my clients have been in business for a couple of years. When then come to me they are ready to step up their design strategy. My ideal clients recognize that graphic design is an integral part of business for them. And they know that investing in good design is essential in growing their business.

Larger Companies: I also consult on a regular basis with design firms and in-house departments of larger companies. I enjoy jumping into new projects with teams of super nice, talented people.

How are you different?

I am immersed in every project I do… from initial conversation with the client through to releasing the files. Most of my clients stay with me for years, and I become extremely invested in the success of their brands. With my senior level of design experience, I am able to envision the big picture and strategic direction of a project. And also focus on the small details and nuances of the typography and composition – the things that made me fall in love with the design process.

Do I always get to work with you?

Yes. I work very closely with all of my clients. If I need more help, I build a creative team based upon my clients needs but I will always be the point person.

Usually 3–6 weeks

What is the lead time to develop a system of packaging?

Usually 8–12 weeks
